Promoting travel while unpacking bias

To launch Black & Abroad’s 2024 travel season, we used AI to generate personalized photo albums of past B&A guests in upcoming travel destinations. But along the way, the project sent us in a different direction. Even though we trained the AI model on many photos of our Black guests, the new photos it generated showed deep racial bias.

We knew only sharing what we uncovered en route wasn’t going far enough. So we created the first reporting system for bias in generative AI – an open-source tool for people to log offside images they see to help reshape the future of generative AI.

We launched the 360 campaign with email, a 1:1 website, a mass website, video, OOH and social. Experience the mass website for yourself and report AI bias at seeyouthere.ai
